When INRW is Required
Integrated Reading and Writing (INRW) courses are designed to support students as they complete English Composition I. These courses develop the reading, writing, and thinking skills that help students succeed in college-level coursework.
- INRW 0100 - Focuses on active reading strategies and writing
- INRW 0101 - Concentrates on developing writing skills
Placement outcomes between 227-254 require that students enroll in INRW. Students take INRW during the same semester as English Composition I. The INRW course is directly connected to the English Composition I class and provides additional guidance and practice for students.
How to Enroll in INRW
When enrolling, it is essential that students select the connected sessions of English Composition I and INRW. Registering for mismatched sessions results in registration errors or require schedule changes.
- For example: INRW 0100-02 must enroll in ENGL 0101-02
These courses are intentionally scheduled one after the other to create a seamless learning experience.
INRW Credit Class
It's important to note that INRW credits do not apply toward a degree. The course is designed to help students successfully complete English Composition I — a required course for most programs.
Financial Aid
INRW courses do count toward enrollment for financial aid and full time status purposes, according to college and federal guidelines.
