Main campus is located at 7250 State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas, and was built in 1972. Since that time, additional buildings have been constructed. In 1996, most buildings on campus were renamed. (See the campus map following the title page.) In 1977, the Performing Arts Center, which houses a 363-seat Little Theater, was dedicated. The Nursing Building was completed and dedicated in March of 1981. The Community Education Building was completed in the fall of 1986. The Jack Flint Hi-Tech Building was completed and dedicated in the spring of 1992. The Wellness Center, which was opened in the spring of 1992 in the gymnasium, quickly outgrew its space and has been located in the Allied Health Building since 1996. The AHB was renamed in 2016 to the Health Professions and Public Safety Building. Construction on the new Jewell Student Center began in the fall of 1994, and many of the Student Services offices moved in at the beginning of the 1996 Spring Semester. By spring break, all Student Services had relocated to the new center.

The Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center (TEC) offers more than 20 high demand career programs in a state of the art 130,000 square feet complex. The TEC offers hands-on technical skill training programs during the day which lead to certificates and employment in office and computer technology, service and health occupations, or trade and industrial fields. TEC curriculum is aligned with business and industry standards. Advanced students may participate in work-based learning experiences or internships. Leadership skills are also developed through opportunities with national student organizations.

Pioneer Career Center offers both technical certificate and associate degree programs, the Pioneer Career Center is open to community members seeking further educational career opportunities as well as eligible high school juniors and seniors. High school students will have the chance to take classes in a “hands-on environment” while earning college credit at KCKCC at the same time or can be transferred to other educational institution.

Academic classes such as biology, composition, public speaking and criminal justice are available at the Pioneer Career Center. Technology programs that are offered at the Pioneer Career Center include:

  • CNA / CMA
  • Construction Technology
  • Culinary Arts
  • Electrical Technology
  • HVAC
