Social and Behavioral Sciences & Public Services

By offering students a critical approach scholarship through a rich learning environment, the Social and Behavioral Sciences & Public Services Division at Kansas City Kansas Community College is working today to prepare tomorrow’s difference makers for the complex social issues facing society.  Whether students are pursuing a certificate, an associate degree, or preparing to move on to a four-year institution or a non-academic career, our student-first philosophy drives our efforts to help students reach their goals. The division is home to the school’s sociology, social work, economics, psychology, political science, addiction counseling, paralegal, teacher education, pre-law and criminal justice programs as well as the early childhood education program.  Other courses taught in this division include sign language, anthropology, geography and the schools’ freshmen orientation course.  In addition, the KCKCC Intercultural Center and the KCKCC art gallery are also located in this division.  Day and evening courses are offered as are courses in blended, on-line and on-ground formats.
