Basic Rider Course

  • All courses are taught by Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified Rider Coaches. Course is approved by the state of Kansas.
  • KCKCC Basic Rider Course is on the approved list of courses eligible for the Motor Vehicle Accident Prevention Course Discount.

For the seasoned rider who wants to hone their skills and fine-tune the mental drills needed to survive in traffic. Topics include:

  • How to balance the mental and physical aspects of safe riding
  • How to manage risk
  • How to increase visibility
  • How to optimize lane position

Student requirements:

  • Must provide their on motorcycle and show proof of insurance
  • Must have a motorcycle endorsement on a valid driver's license
  • Students must wear the following safety gear: helmet, eye protection, long sleeve shirt or jacket, long pants (no baggies or flares), full finger gloves and shoes over the ankle or boots.

Advanced Rider Course (ARC)

This one-day course complements a rider's basic skills and helps with personal risk assessment. It includes a fast-paced classroom segment with several interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness. Range exercises enhance both basic skills and crash avoidance skills. Improving braking and cornering finesse are emphasized. This course is beneficial for riders on any type of street motorcycle.
