The Kansas City Kansas Community College Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2018 Mid-America Hall of Fame Awards & Scholarship Event will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dr. Thomas R. Burke Technical Education Center. This annual event is the Foundation’s signature fundraising initiative, raising over $100,000 in 2017 to support student scholarships. On behalf of the entire Foundation Board, we are extremely grateful for all the continuous community support and hope you will consider supporting our students by becoming a sponsor, making a nomination, or donating an auction item.

The KCKCC Foundation provides scholarships to assist students with educational expenses.  Over 100 students received Foundation scholarships in academic year 2017, and we hope to support more students in 2018.  Also, please join us as we honor and induct some remarkable individuals that have done extraordinary things for education, joining an esteemed group in the Mid-America Hall of Fame.

We are proud to announce Will Shields, former Kansas City Chiefs lineman, now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and a 2001 inductee into the Mid-America Education Hall of Fame, will again be the Honorary Chair for the event while anchor/reporter Kevin Holmes of KSHB-TV will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

The Mid-America Education Hall of Fame started in 1996 as a way to recognize individuals, organizations and corporate supporters in the community who have made notable contributions to education. Hall of Fame inductees are selected based on a demonstrated commitment to education, their effort to improve the quality of life in the community through a commitment to education, increasing educational opportunities for others and supporting significant changes that have improved the quality of education.

Our deserving students have a vision for success – and you’re the key to reaching their goals!  Facing the reality of state budget cuts, financial aid and scholarships have become vital to aid students in meeting their educational goals.  The money raised at the Mid-America Hall of Fame Awards & Scholarship Event has a huge impact – and your support makes all the difference!
