Other KCKCC Policies
Smoking is not allowed inside campus buildings. Smoking is not allowed with 25 feet of any entryway to any building.
Children on Campus
Children are not allowed in classrooms while classes are in session. Also, children shall not be left unattended in the hallways or lounge areas while parents are in class. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in the Campus Child Care Center.
Food and Drink in Classrooms
Students are asked to observe the signs which indicate where food and drinks are allowed on campus. Food and drinks are not allowed in the classrooms.
While on campus, students should carry their student I.D. card with them at all times.
Hallways are often congested between classes and students are expected to be courteous at all times. Also, out of courtesy for individuals with disabilities, students are asked not to sit in the hallways during and between class periods.
Buildings and Grounds personnel have made KCKCC a model for maintaining a clean environment, both inside and outside the campus buildings. Students are encouraged to help keep KCKCC clean.
School Closing Due to Inclement Weather
The responsibility for closing the College is delegated to the President of KCKCC by the Board of Trustees. In the event of the President’s absence, the Vice President of Student and Administrative Services makes this decision.
Whenever a decision is made to close the College, this information is released to the local radio and television stations for announcement during news periods. It will also be posted on the college website.
KCKCC is not a part of District 500, so if schools in Wyandotte County are closed, the College does not necessarily cancel classes. When the College remains open during inclement weather, students should take reasonable care in coming to the campus to attend regularly scheduled classes.
