Tutoring Services
The Tutoring Services program at Kansas City Kansas Community College is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association. The Program is composed of the following services:
- Math Tutoring Center that assists students with most math courses offered at KCKCC
- Reading & Writing Center that is staffed by Professional Tutors that provide one-on-one assistance as well as Online Writing Consultations,
- Individual/Group Peer Tutoring
Students who are interested in receiving tutoring must come to the ARC and request the service or apply for the service online. Each semester, approximately 300-500 currently enrolled KCKCC students self-identify and request tutoring, or are identified by instructors, through the Early Alert Program, as students who could possibly benefit from tutoring.
The objectives of the Tutoring Services program are:
- To identify, recruit and retain qualified tutors
- To provide course content tutoring, as requested
- To provide a comprehensive tutor training program
- To successfully match qualified tutors with tutees
The Tutoring Services program is located within the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The ARC is located in room 3344, in the Jewell Student Center.
