The Tutoring Services program at Kansas City Kansas Community College is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association. The Program is composed of the following services:
Math Tutoring Center that assists students with most math courses offered at KCKCC
Reading & Writing Center that is staffed by Professional Tutors that provide one-on-one assistance as well as Online Writing Consultations,
Individual/Group Peer Tutoring
Students who are interested in receiving tutoring must come to the ARC and request the service or apply for the service online. Each semester, approximately 300-500 currently enrolled KCKCC students self-identify and request tutoring, or are identified by instructors, through the Early Alert Program, as students who could possibly benefit from tutoring.
The objectives of the Tutoring Services program are:
To identify, recruit and retain qualified tutors
To provide course content tutoring, as requested
To provide a comprehensive tutor training program
To successfully match qualified tutors with tutees
The Tutoring Services program is located within the Academic Resource Center (ARC). The ARC is located in room 3344, in the Jewell Student Center.
