Financial Aid, Grants, and Scholarships

Financial Aid
You must be a citizen or permanent resident to apply for aid through the Financial Aid office. Complete the online application at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Use school code 001925. You will need your federal tax returns for the previous year to complete the form. Call the Financial Aid Office (910) 288-7455 for more information.

ESOL Scholarships/Grants
For students who do not qualify for Financial Aid, a limited number of ESOL Grants are made available. Selection is based on the student's previous academic performance, potential to succeed, and financial need. Grant money will apply only to tuition and fees for ESOL classes. Grants are renewable as long as the student is enrolled in at least one ESOL class, maintaining a GPA of 2.5, and demonstrating academic leadership as verified with the student's instructors. Award amounts will vary. An application form may be obtained from Elizabeth Holloway, ESOL Coordinator, Room 3415, 913-288-7625. Students attending KCKCC on an F1 Student Visa are ineligible for this scholarship.

ISO/SOL Scholarships
Students who are active members of either the International Student Organization or the Student Organization of Latinos can apply for tuition and book scholarships through the clubs. Selection is based on the student's support and participation in club events and activities. Scholarship amounts will vary. Application forms will be made available at a club meeting prior to the deadline each semester. Any active club member is eligible to apply regardless of his or her citizenship, residency, or visa status.
