Karen Orr

When Karen Orr first came to KCKCC, she thought she wanted to be an accountant. It didn't take her long to realize, however, that accounting was not the right career for her. After a short break from college, she returned and entered the nursing program, receiving her associates degree in 1993. She is now the CEO of Providence Medical Center.
"Without having this college here, I never would have been a nurse," she said. "Being a non-traditional student, I had to work full-time. I had to have something that was flexible enough and affordable enough that I could realize my dream."
