Debra Stafford-Gray didn’t set off wanting to be in education, instead she stumbled into teaching.
“I love helping and preparing others for their future,” she said. “I love meeting the different students and seeing staff members utilize their skills to bring togetherness for the sake of the student.”
Stafford-Gray is not only a faculty member at KCKCC, but was one of the first students to begin classes at the college when it opened its doors at the State Street location in 1972. After graduating with an associate of arts degree in business management, she went onto earn a bachelor of science in personnel and human resources and a master’s in managing information systems, both from Friends University before earning a double doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She also has a certification from the American Society for Training and Development.
She began working at KCKCC in 2001 as an instructor and is currently an adjunct professor in business and continuing education.
“KCKCC provides a good start into college life,” she said. “It helps students to learn discipline to complete a task, time management and other skills that will help them in the community.”
