Group Fitness Class Descriptions

Aqua Aerobics is simply exercising in the water. Water reduces the impact of a workout thereby allowing you to work harder than on land with fewer traumas to the joints. Water is a viscous medium that offers resistance in every direction, strengthening both muscles and bones while burning calories & having fun.

Stretch & Conditioning is a class where the first 15 minutes consist of a light to medium intensity resistance training workout. This strength training is followed by 30 minutes of stretching exercises designed for every muscle of your body, from your head to your toes, to improve your flexibility.

Bosu & Balance is a class that uses the Bosu (a half-ball balance tool) or a 3 inch balance pad to practice balancing in different situations. As we get older, maintaining our balance becomes an important issue. This 35 minute class will sharpen you balancing skills on many different levels.

Walk /Run Class is a 3 day a week class that is geared to the early risers. This class is designed to help improve endurance and speed. Each session will include a group walk or run as instructor observes and gives feedback. Join this class and get fit while walking or running using interval training, hill workouts, and endurance workouts.

Mind Fit is a class aimed at keeping your most important as-set sharp----your brain. This class uses an assortment of activities to provide a mental workout. Mind Fit Class includes challenging puzzles, games and activities that enhance cognitive function such as memory, spatial awareness, creative thinking, numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, and mind-body connection.

Social Dance for Fitness is a fun exercise/dance class where you can learn the latest line dances or try a salsa or ballroom dance. Learn to dance while getting a great workout!

Zumba is a, calorie burning, dance fitness party with a blend of upbeat world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography that feels like a celebration. Party yourself into shape with Zumba, the Latin-inspired, easy-to-follow, calorie burning, dance-fitness party!

Sunrise Yoga is designed to give participants an opportunity to begin the day with yoga experience that awakens and stretches the mind body and spirit.

Mid-Day Yoga is yoga that provides an opportunity for everyone to experience yoga and focus on poses which help the individual to cope with daily stressors and mental challenges.

Body sculpting is a class that focuses on muscle toning and strengthening. Using dumbbells, resistance bands, body bars, medicine balls, and the weight of our own body, we can build strength and develop muscle definition through a variety of exercises. Then we throw in some cardio to give you the formula for a slimmer, trimmer you!

Fitness Tai Chi is a fun class that benefits your entire mind, body, and spirit while integrating your breath with your movement. We start with unique conditioning drills for your joints & muscles, followed by various Chinese exercise techniques designed to improve balance, posture, & flexibility; strengthen arms, legs, hands, shoulders, & core; and enhance overall functional fitness.

Restorative yoga is held occasionally, it is a therapeutic style of yoga that uses props and promotes body and mind health in deep relaxation with extended poses.

Abs and Back is a class that focuses on the Abdominal, oblique and lower back areas while standing and on the floor.

Boot camp is a fun medium to high intensity workout that is designed to burn lots of calories. Boot camp includes a variety cardio, strength, flexibility exercises for all fitness levels. No experience needed.

Pilates central goal is to make life’s daily tasks easier to do. Each workout will have a variety of exercises that will be used to strengthen and stabilize all areas of the body. After each class you will have an expanded knowledge of many Pilates exercises and be able to continue them outside of class.
