Advisory Council of the Intercultural Center


Mission:

The Advisory Council of the Intercultural Center (ACIC) is comprised of active members of the community who act as liaisons between the college Intercultural Center (ICC) and the community, attending functions of the school and making recommendations to the ICC on how to better serve our diverse populations.

Goals and Objectives:

The Goals of the ACIC are to help cultivate links between the college Intercultural Center and the community to foster greater understanding and appreciation for the diverse student populations and communities we serve. More specifically, the ACIC will advise the ICC in its pursuits to advance the following areas:

  • Enhance community image,
  • Improve products and services,
  • Be an employer of choice,
  • Increase student enrollment.

The ACIC will do so by:

  • Inviting open communication between community members / groups and ICC.
  • Encouraging community members / groups to participate in college cultural functions.
  • Notifying the ICC of community events of interest to the college.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Members of the ACIC serve the ICC in an advisory capacity.

Members commit to at least one year of service. There will be four full council meetings, one per quarter and smaller committee meetings as needed.

Members will make an effort to attend KCKCC intercultural events.
