2008 Summer Basketball Camp Review
Several campers were recognized at the Kansas City Kansas Community College girls’ basketball clinic for their accomplishments.
Earning trophies of excellence were Erin Oots, Hustler Award, and unanimous selection Kylie Burns, Coaches Award. Kylie also earned recognition for her shooting accuracy by winning our free throw competition. Anya Loboda won the free throw competition for the younger division.
Campers were given instruction and practice on how to improve their basketball skills the week of June 9th-12th and competed in daily contests. Individuals were selected each day by the coaching staff for their superior efforts and given KCKCC memorabilia. Recipients of KCKCC memorabilia were: Anya Loboda, Sara Dominquez, Sarah Christoph, and RaeVeon Mumphrey. At the close of camp, each camper received a certificate of participation and t-shirt.
Alicia Roth applauded all nineteen campers for their efforts and eagerness to learn. “As a coach, it was nice having such attentive athletes attend camp. The older campers were extremely coachable and responsive to our instruction. The younger gals delighted us as coaches with their skill level and love for the game.”
Alicia Roth continued saying, “Having campers that want to be here and student-athletes of our own willing to assist in the teaching, make the camp a memorable experience for all involved. Thank you coaches for your hard work.”
KCKCC will host a winter basketball clinic for boys & girls looking to improve their basketball skills. The clinic will take place during winter break in late December or early January. Look for more details in the fall or contact Alicia Roth by phone at 913-288-7461 or by email aroth@kckcc.edu.
