2005 Clinic Highlights

Seven campers were recognized for their exceptional shooting at the KCKCC Basketball Shooting Clinic in late July.

Campers receiving trophies for their Free Throw excellence were:

  • Bree Fowler
  • Deandre Clark
  • Kristian Dodds
  • Paul Payton

Campers receiving trophies for their three point shooting excellence were:

  • Monique Johnson
  • Matt Ryan

The coaches also unanimously recognized Darryl Terrell with a Most Improved Player Award.

The clinic was designed to instruct boys and girls entering the fourth through the eleventh grades on the proper shooting mechanics and skills essential to excelling offensively in the sport of basketball. KCKCC women's basketball staff and standout men's & women's players provided the instruction and positive learning environment. Campers competed in contests for a chance to win KCKCC memorabilia and individuals were honored daily for their personal accomplishments. All campers also received a basketball, T-shirt and certificate acknowledging their efforts.

Alicia Roth, KCKCC assistant women's basketball coach and camp coordinator said, the camp was a success however she would like to see an increase in participation numbers for next year. "We had a nice turnout with thirty campers. However, our gym and staff could easily occupy twice that many. My hopes are that our campers and parents will speak positively and openly about their camp experience and as a result, entice others to attend next year".
