Ruben Rodriguez, Head Soccer Coach

Started December 7, 2009 as KCKCC's Head Soccer Coach, prior I was Assistant Men's Soccer Coach since 2007.

Twenty years as a Kansas City Kansas Police Officer, Ruben holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

His thirty-seven years of experience as a player prepared him to transition into coaching both Men’s Division or Boy’s division teams for the past ten years.

Ruben’s most priced memory of playing as a young man was his two first place championship wins at the Pike’s Peak Invitational Tournament in 1979 and 1980.

As a player Ruben experienced a first place Kansas Division I Men’s League Champions, with the Zamora Soccer Club, for 1997, 98 and 99. Also, in 1999 Ruben assisted his team to a first place Kansas State Championship.

He moved into the Assistant coaching position where the team placed 3rd in the Kansas Division I Men’s League in 2000 and for the next four years, 2001, 02, 03 and 04 place once again came out on top by placing first in the Kansas Division I Men’s League. In 2000, 01, 02 and 03 placed first place in the Kansas State Championship games, advancing to Regional Semi-Finals in 2002 and Regional Championship in 2003.

In 2001 Ruben formed a Zamora Boys team for his son, Eddie, starting with U10 through this year’s U18 team. As a coach Ruben has coached his boys team to four League Division first place Championships, a second place finish in the Toyota Heritage Tournament and four first place finishes; 2003 Celtic Cup Tournament, 2004 and 2005 Kansas Governor’s Cup Tournaments and 2007 KC Invitational Tournament
