  1. What does KCKCC Library offer distant learners?
Off-campus individuals may access various library resources and services electronically. The following sections highlight what the KCKCC Library has to offer students, faculty and staff members not physically on our campus.
  2. Who is a distant learner?
To qualify for distant education services a student must:
    • reside outside a 25 mile radius of the college main campus
    • and must not attend classes on either the main campus or at the Leavenworth Service Center
Students who reside within the 25 miles of campus or attend class on either campus are ineligible for distant education services.
  3. How do I find out what the library owns?
The KCKCC Online Catalog is used to find out what materials are owned by the KCKCC Library. Included in the catalog are books, sound recordings, audiovisual materials, government documents and journal title holdings.
  4. How can I find magazine and journal articles?
If you are a KCKCC student, faculty or staff member off-campus access to resources is provided by the Library. This access includes general information databases along with many subject specific databases in a variety of areas. The electronic resources may be located through the Databases link on the library=s home page.
  5. How do I access resources?
When a database is chosen, a white screen should appear with the message, APlease enter your username@ followed by APlease enter your password@. For students, your username is your 9-digit student identification number and your password is your 4-digit PIN number. For faculty, adjunct and staff please contact the Library for your information at 913-288-7650.
  6. How can I get full text resources?
Many of the databases available through the library are either partially or completely full-text. This means that articles may be retrieved online.
  7. What if I need help with my research or library assignment?
The KCKCC Library offers an AAsk the Librarian@ service.
  8. For further questions.....
In our modern age, technology is constantly changing. Resources, and access to those resources, are also being changed and updated. The KCKCC Library is committed to ensuring that students off-campus receive the same services that on-campus students are able to access. The library web page will be the most current resource for this type of information, but you are welcome to call the library with questions at 913-288-7650.
