Mission Statement
The KCKCC Library serves students, faculty and administrators of the college and Wyandotte and Leavenworth county residents by providing access to a variety of services and resources that support and strengthen the instructional programs of the college and the higher educational needs of the community.
To acquire, inventory, store, and make available an organized collection of materials and information in print, non-print, and electronic formats
To provide the facilities and environment necessary for individual study and/or research
To provide reference and other professional services designed to develop self-reliance among users/parrots
To provide bibliographic instruction designed to locate, access, and evaluate information sources in a variety of formats or locations
To provide interlibrary loan services which expand the resources and instructional capabilities of the local collection
To provide bibliographic search and retrieval services to KCKCC students, faculty, and staff
There is one book drop located outside the library main entrance doors. This book drop is available at all times.
There is one book drop located at the circulation desk on the first floor of the library. This book drop is available whenever the library is open.
Patrons are responsible for material(s) left on the counters and not placed in the book drop.
There is one coin operated copier located on the first floor of the Library. The cost is 10 cents per page. The copier will reduce and enlarge, but does not do two-sided copies. At the present time there is not a color printer in the Library.

Where are items located in the library?
circulating books are all located on open shelving on the 2nd floor of the library
reference books are located on open shelving on the first floor of the library
reserve materials are on closed shelving behind the circulation desk on the first floor of the library. Library employees will retrieve these materials.
Leisure reading books are located on the southeast side of the second floor.
current year of periodicals are located on the first floor, with the most recent issue on the open journal shelving and prior issues behind the circulation desk
older periodicals are located on open shelving on the south side of the second floor
music CDs are located in display cabinets on the first floor north end
all other AV materials must be requested at the circulation desk located on the first floor. Many of these items may only be used in the library
The KCKCC Library has many documents on microfilm and microfiche. These documents are stored in cabinets located under the first floor stairwell. Included in the film/fiche collection are many journals titles, government documents, ERIC documents and the New York Times Newspaper from 1971 to 1999. The Library has one microfilm/microfiche reader/printer located along side the cabinets for viewing these documents. There is no charge to print these documents.
The Lost and Found is located at the circulation desk. After 24 hours any found items are sent to Campus Police.
Public rest rooms are located on the second floor of the library.

There is a public pay phone located in the library front lobby.
Cell Phones and Pagers
Library staff increasingly hear complaints from users about having their concentration disturbed by pagers, ring tones, and cell phone conversations. Please select a silent mode for your cell phone and pager while in the Library. Conversations on cell phones should be conducted in the library front lobby or outside.
