Title III
In October of 2004, KCKCC was awarded a five-year Title III Grant from the Federal Department of Education.
The purpose of the grant is to Create a Comprehensive Student Engagement System by strengthening two components; instructional programs and student support services.
The focus for the first of these components, Strengthening Instructional Programs, includes providing academic support in developmental reading, writing, and math, and reinforcing basic skills in gateway courses. A Bridge Program will help students transition from ABE/GED into developmental and college-level programs. Faculty Development in techniques and technologies for addressing diverse learning styles will extend the practices developed here across the curriculum.
The focus for the second component, Strengthening Student Support Services , is to develop information-based comprehensive intake strategies and advisement and tracking systems complemented by academic support programs to enable students to achieve their educational and career goals.
