  • Research information that will clearly describe your problem or need for funds with “compelling statistics and graphics” such as charts and tables
  • Answer these basic questions:
    “How and when did you identify the problem or need”
    “Do you understand the problem at the local, regional and national levels”
    “Do you use statistics and other current information to support the problem statement”
    “Are you seeking funds for a job that can be solved in one year”
  • Use strong terms and phases or bulleted lists to give details
