Youth Programs

N.Y.S.P. - The National Youth Sports Program is a five-week summer program open to youths ages 10-16. The program is supported by the college along with several community partners including KCK (WyCo Parks & Recreation, the American Red Cross, and USD 500 Kids Zone. Due to budget cuts in funding, participants now pay a nominal fee for the camp.

The program offers youth an opportunity to participate in various competitive and leisure sports activities and career and educational activities. A nucleus of trained professionals, along with student athletes and College support staff, provide instruction. Each youth receives two USDA approved meals each day, athletic equipment to use during the program, and T-shirts.

The program's objective is to expand opportunities for youth to benefit from sports-skills instruction, improve their physical fitness, help them acquire good health practices, become better citizens, and acquaint them with career and educational opportunities by utilizing the personnel and facilities for higher learning.

Additional youth programming is offered each semester and is listed in the Continuing Education schedule.
