OnTrack Program

In cooperation with the Kansas Board of Regents, the On Track Program is designed to help adults increase knowledge and improve skills essential in today's world in three areas:
  1. Basic Skills (ABE):  Classes enable adults to improve their skills in reading, math, English, science, and social studies. Employability skills, including beginning computer training, are also a part of the basic skills curriculum. These classes are open to all adults who wish to brush up on basic skills whether or not they have completed a high school diploma.
  2. High School Equivalency Preparation (GED):  Classes prepare adults for the General Educational Development (GED) test. GED testing is scheduled monthly at KCKCC. Testing is also offered daily, by appointment.
  3. Transition Classes:  Classes are offered to all On Track students who wish to learn more about post-secondary education and training.
  4. English for Speakers of Other Languages (SOL):  Classes are held at the KCKCC Campus and three satellite learning centers and are offered at a variety of times to meet the needs of students. Besides the campus location, On Track is offered at the KCKCC Leavenworth Center, the KCKCC West Sate Plaza, and the Kansas City Kansa School District 500 Education Center at Indian Springs Shopping Center. Four enrollments are held throughout the year. To participate in the On Track Program students must be at least 16 years of age and not attending high school. There is one-time $35 fee for enrollment and materials.
