GED

KCKCC is a GED Test site.  The GED Test is administered in a computer lab in the Community Education Building (CEB) on a computer.  Persons wishing to take the GED Test should go online to ged.com to sign up and to pay online.  The test is made up of four components – Reading and Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math.  The cost is $132 for the entire test or $33 per subject area.  Preparation classes are available.  For further information, please call 913-288-7660.

Requirements for the GED Test are:

  • Examinees must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Examinees cannot be currently enrolled in high school.
  • Examinees who are 16 or 17 years of age may take the GED Test if they have officially withdrawn from high school, have had an exit interview, and have a signed disclaimer and exemption form from the school district from which they reside. 
  • Examinees cannot hold a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certificate.
