Scholarship Application

Scholarship information and applications will be available in March.

General Foundation Requirements for Scholarship Eligibility & Renewal

  • Individuals must apply for admission to KCKCC at WWW.KCKCC.EDU
  • Submit official transcripts from High School, College or GED program attended to the KCKCC Admissions office
  • Submit a completed scholarship application through the Foundation Office or online at http://www.kckcc.edu/foundation.
  • Submit a one page essay along with your completed application detailing your degree plans and career aspirations as well as how these scholarships would assist you in achieving these things.
  • Scholarship recipients must also submit a written letter of thanks to the KCKCC foundation and the donors that make it possible upon receival of their scholarship award letter.
  • Scholarship recipients must also return their signed letter of acceptance upon receival of their scholarship award letter.
  • All eligibility criteria must be met by applicant in order to be considered for initial award or renewal of scholarship.

KCKCC Foundation Scholarship

Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 or meet established GED standardized test scores.

  • Preference given to Wyandotte and Leavenworth County students.
  • $250-$1,000 awarded per semester to cover tuition, books, and fees.
  • Renewable each semester if minimum qualifications maintained.

Assurant Scholarship

  • $500 awarded per semester for tuition, fees & books
  • Student who are physically, intellectually or learning disables are eligible
  • Must be registered with the ARC/Learning Commons as a student with disability or submit documentation verifying disability
  • Must be a full time student (minimum of 12 credit hours)
  • Minimum 2.0 G.P.A.

Trapp Veterinary Scholarship

  • $500 awarded per semester
  • Must be declared major of pre-veterinary medicine
  • Must be a full time student (minimum of 12 credit hours)
  • Must be a resident of Wyandotte or Leavenworth County

Gingrich Family Scholarship

  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Family will determine amount awarded per semester
  • Letter of recommendation from KCKCC faculty
  • Special consideration given to single parents and students focusing on serving in memory care facilities

John Stocksen Memorial Scholarship

  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Business Major
  • Amount of award to be determined by Stocksen family

William Nelson Nicoll Jr. Scholarship

  • $500 awarded per semester
  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Preference given to Wyandotte and Leavenworth County Students

WYCO ARSP Scholarship

  • Up to $1,000 awarded per semester
  • Second year education major
  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Must be full time student (minimum of 12 credit hours)

Wyandotte Class of 55’ Scholarship

  • $250 awarded Per Semester
  • Eligible for renewal for three semesters, as long as requirements are met.
  • Wyandotte High School graduate
  • Traditional students must enroll full time & have at least a 2.8 G.P.A. from High School and maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. at KCKCC
  • Non-traditional must enroll in a minimum of 6 hours and maintain a 3.0 G.P.A

Karen Ogden Roberts Nursing Scholarship

  • Up to $1,000 distributed throughout second and third nursing program semesters with a $100 graduation bonus.
  • Scholarship good for two consecutive academic years.
  • Must be a fulltime student enrolled in first semester of KCKCC nursing program (minimum of 12 credit hours).
  • Minimum 2.75 G.P.A. in the semester previous to the disbursement.
  • Must provide two letters of referral.

Alexander Memorial Scholarship

  • Must be a full time student (minimum of 12 credit hours).
  • Amount of scholarship to be determined as available by the Foundation Office for tuition, fees, and course books.
  • Leavenworth County Residents preferred.
  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.

Frank & Doris Schlagle Scholarship (Tier 1)

This scholarship covers tuition and fees only for six to fifteen credit hours per semester at instate rate. TEC students who are awarded this scholarship will be a maxi-mum of $1,000 per semester. Student must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours. There will be a limited number of scholarships available.

ALL STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES:

  • Preference give to Wyandotte and Leavenworth County Students.
  • Academic Requirement: Minimum High School or College cumulative G.P.A. of 3.50 or meet established standardized GED test scores.
  • Must be pursuing an Associates Degree or Certificate (including TEC students) from Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Frank & Doris Schlagle Scholarship (Tier 2)

This scholarship covers tuition and fees only for six to fifteen credit hours per semes-ter at instate rate. TEC students who are awarded this scholarship will be a maxi-mum of $1,000 per semester. Student must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours. There will be a limited number of scholarships available.

  • Must be pursuing an Associates Degree or Certificate (including TEC students) from Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Students awarded The Frank and Doris Schlagle Scholarship will be considered for renewal as long as the student fulfills all requirements and completes 100% of classes taken.

Dahlgren Scholarship

  • Up to $1,000 awarded per semester
  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Elementary Education major

Sullivan Scholarship

  • Up to $1,000 per semester
  • Minimum 3.5 G.P.A.
  • Computer Information Systems or Math Major

Rita M. Ahart Nursing Scholarship

  • $500 - $1,000 awarded per semester
  • Amount of award will be determined by the Ahart family
  • Must be seeking a degree in the KCKCC nursing program
  • Must be a Wyandotte County resident

Philip Miller Memorial Scholarship

  • Up to $500 awarded for Fall semester ONLY for tuition, books, and fees.
  • Student must be degree seeking.
  • Preference given to students with a specific situation that makes it challenging for them to afford college classes. (Single parents, first generation college students, non-traditional students who have lost a job, ect.) Must include in essay.
  • Seeking students who have a passion for Creative Writing, and English.

Juanita Miller Scholarship

  • Up to $1,500 awarded per semester to be used for education expenses such as tuition, books, fees, child care, or living expenses.
  • Preference given to single mothers seeking a degree in the nursing or health care field.
  • Bonner Springs residents preferred.

Frances Speer Memorial Scholarship

  • Up to $1,000 awarded per semester for tuition, fees, and books.
  • Preference given to students seeking a certificate or degree in either the CNA or KCKCC nursing program.
  • Minimum 2.75 G.P.A.
  • Must be a Wyandotte or Johnson County resident.

Ryken Scholarship

  • Up to $500 awarded per semester for tuition, fees, and books.
  • Minimum 3.0 G.P.A.
  • Must be seeking a degree in Respiratory Therapy

Buckner Memorial Jazz Scholarship

  • Up to $500 awarded per semester for tuition, fees, books, and essential supplies.
  • Must be a recent Wyandotte County high school graduate or Wyandotte County resident.
  • Must be a full time student (minimum of 12 credit hours).
  • Must be selected or recommended by the music/performing arts department faculty.
