Dr. Michael Vitale

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Northern Colorado, Dr. Vitale enrolled in the Biology graduate program at the University of South Florida where he earned his Master’s in Zoology and Ph.D. in Biology. Upon completing his doctorate, Dr. Vitale began his academic career at what was then Daytona Beach Community College (now Daytona State College) teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Biology. After several years in the classroom, he took a Coordinator position that combined teaching with some administrative duties. Two years later, he stepped into the Dean of Arts and Sciences position. In late 2010, Dr. Vitale moved into the interim position of Vice President. This change was necessitated when the President of the College resigned and was replaced on an interim basis by the Vice President.

Wanting to expand his experiences beyond a single institution and get closer to his family roots, Dr. Vitale moved to Kansas City to take the Vice President position at KCKCC. This has been a rejuvenating experience for Dr. Vitale. He is excited to be at KCKCC and looking forward to helping the College grow and improve its service to Wyandotte County and the State of Kansas.
