Transfer & Visiting F-1 Students

  • Some courses may require fees in addition to the tuition and fees cost listed above; these fees are listed in the class schedule each semester.
  • The KCKCC Board of Trustees has the right to change tuition and fee costs without notice.
  • Tuition and fees must be paid at the time of enrollment.

F-1 Visiting Application Requirements

An F-1 student who is not a KCKCC student but who wishes to enroll in 1 or 2 classes at KCKCC may do so as a VISITING Student.  A Visiting Student maintains their lawful F-1 student status at their home institution; enrollment at KCKCC is concurrent to their enrollment at their home institution.

  • Payable directly to KCKCC’s Business Office via telephone at 1-913-288-7620 using your credit/debit/bank card
    • Application and document review and processing will NOT begin until AFTER the $85.00 application fee has been paid

Step 3: Submit Transcripts

Submit official transcripts from current U.S. institution

Step 7: Submit a Color Print-out of I-94 Admission Record

  • You may retrieve your I-94 Admission Record online at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94; click on the GET MOST RECENT I-94 link at the top of the page to begin the retrieval process.

Step 8: Submit a KCKCC Concurrent Enrollment Form

Application Deadlines

Fall Semester

International students are not eligible for admission to the Summer Semester.

International students are not eligible for admission to the Second 8-Week Term of the Fall or Spring Semesters.

  • All application requirements must be submitted prior to the deadlines listed above.
  • Application deadlines are the last possible day to submit a complete application packet.
  • Deadlines are not flexible or negotiable.
    • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed or considered.

F-1 SEVIS Transfer applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (or higher) in order to be considered for admission to KCKCC

Step 4: Submit Graduation / Exam Certificate

Submit official secondary school Leaving/Graduation/National Exam Certificate. In the native language and accompanied by an official English translation.

Official Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Statement Examination Results MUST be submitted DIRECTLY FROM the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) directly to Kansas City Kansas Community College.

  • TOEFL minimum score = 61 iBT
  • IELTS minimum overall band score = 5.5
  • PTE Academic minimum score = 44

Print the Affidavit of Support form to give to your financial sponsor
  • Required from each financial sponsor who submitted a Bank Statement or Bank Letter
  • Must be notarized or attested

Step 7: Submit International Student Medical Form

Print and fill out the International Student Medical Form
  • Completed and signed by a Physican/Medical Doctor or a Registered Nurse
  • TB (tuberculosis) test results are compulsory

Step 8: Submit Immigration Documents

Submit color copies of passport, F-1 visa, and most recent Form I-20s from all previously attended schools in the U.S.

Step 9: Submit a Color Print-out of I-94 Admission Record

You may retrieve your I-94 Admission Record online at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94; click on the GET MOST RECENT I-94 link at the top of the page to begin the retrieval process.

Program of Study Restrictions

Approval by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is required for each program of study and site of instruction in order for the program to enroll international students.

Currently, KCKCC is NOT able to issue Forms I-20 for the following programs:

  • Auto Collision Repair
  • Automotive Technology
  • Building and Property Maintenance
  • Culinary Arts
  • Construction Technology
  • Cosmetology
  • Computer Support Specialist
  • Electrical Technology
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
  • Heating and Refrigeration
  • Machine Technology
  • Major Appliance Repair
  • Multimedia Video Production
  • Networking Technology
  • Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Welding Technology

Applicant Notes

  • All application materials and documents submitted for admission to Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) become the property of KCKCC; these materials and documents cannot be returned to the applicant.
  • Application requirements cannot be waived.
  • Submission of altered, falsified, or fraudulent application information and/or documents will result in the immediate DENIAL of admission.
