Honors Education Program Scholarships

Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is intended to recognize the academic achievements of graduating high school seniors who are Wyandotte or Leavenworth county residents. It covers up to 86 credit hours of in-state tuition and fees toward an approved program for full-time, degree-seeking students enrolling at KCKCC. A cumulative graduating high school G.P.A. of at least 3.3 and specific ACT or SAT and KCKCC's Accuplacer Placement exam scores are required. Students accepting the Presidential Scholarship are required to complete four Honors core courses and five Honors elective courses to earn Honors Scholar distinction upon graduation or transfer from KCKCC. KCKCC On Track Program (G.E.D.) graduates may also qualify for the Presidential scholarship.

Deans' Scholarship

The Deans' Scholarship is intended to recognize the academic achievements of KCKCC students who are Wyandotte County residents. It covers tuition and fees for Honors designated courses.

Applicants for the Deans' Scholarship

  • are already enrolled as degree-seeking students at KCKCC,
  • are Wyandotte County residents,
  • have completed 12 credit hours at KCKCC and earned a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.3.

The Deans' Scholarship recipient can choose to fulfill the requirements of the Honors Education Program, (the four Honors core courses and five Honors elective courses), which will earn them the distinction of "Honors Scholar" on their permanent transcript upon graduation and/or transfer to a four-year program.
