Fine Arts
Curriculum pathway leading to an Associate in General Studies in Liberal Arts & Sciences for students transferring into the following 4-year programs:
Dean: Dr. Cherilee Walker
The Fine Arts curriculum parallels the foundational courses in other art colleges and/or programs in four-year colleges. If the program is completed as specified, the General Education courses will transfer to all Kansas Regents universities as a block. Art majors are required to maintain a portfolio.
Since the transferability of courses will vary depending on the specific four-year institution, it is strongly recommended that if students are intending to transfer to a four-year institution, they must consult with the transfer institution and with their respective KCKCC advisor before enrolling in order to determine the transferability of their courses. It is the student's responsibility to follow the transfer requirements established by his/her transfer institution.
A limited number of talent grants are available to qualified students. Individuals with experience in painting drawing, sculpture, or other visual media should apply directly to the art faculty at 913-288-7235.
