OnTrack Program
In cooperation with the Kansas Board of Regents, the Adult Education Program is designed to help adults increase knowledge and improve skills essential in today's world in three areas:
- Basic Skills (ABE): Classes enable adults to improve their skills in reading, math, English, science, and social studies. Employability skills, including beginning computer training, are also a part of the basic skills curriculum. These classes are open to all adults who wish to brush up on basic skills whether or not they have completed a high school diploma.
- High School Equivalency Preparation (GED): Classes prepare adults for the General Educational Development (GED) test. GED testing is scheduled monthly at KCKCC. Testing is also offered daily, by appointment.
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): Classes enable adults with little or no knowledge of English to improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in English.
Classes are held at KCKCC and four satellite learning centers and are offered at a variety of times to meet the needs of changing schedules. Enrollment is continuous throughout the year.
To participate in the Adult Education Program, students must be at least 16 years of age, a resident of Kansas, and not attending high school. There is a one-time $20 fee for classes and materials.
