International Students

International students are welcome at KCKCC. The following conditions must be met for admission:

Candidates must submit an international application form to the Admissions and Records Office with a $1,000.00 security deposit for tuition purposes; a processing fee of $85.00 U.S. by international money order with initial application for admission, payable to "Kansas City Kansas Community College" for processing paperwork and forms for the prospective student. The processing fee is not refundable whether or not the student actually enters the college.

  1. International students will be classified as non-residents and will be required to pay out-of-state tuition.
  2. Candidates must show proper credentials for entry into the United States.
  3. Candidates must present a financial statement indicating they have adequate funds to pay for two years of college, including tuition, fees, and living expenses.
  4. Candidates must graduate from an institution equivalent to a United States high school with average to above average academic ability.
  5. International students transferring to KCKCC from another institution must have a 2.00 (C) GPA.
  6. International students wanting to transfer credit to KCKCC from a foreign college are required to provide the Admissions and Records Office with a certified English translation of their transcript. This evaluation must be completed on a course-by-course basis through and organization recognized by The National Association of Foreign Student Educators (NAFSA). Students are responsible for all fees involved in having this evaluation completed.

A list of approved certifying agents is available in the Admissions and Records Office.

Students who do not have a TOEFL score of 250 will be admitted to our ESOL program according to the ACCUPLACER Levels of English Proficiency (LOEP) test scores.

Prerequisite for admission to this College's degree programs.

  1. Candidates must complete a Reading and Writing Progress Skills Test administered at KCKCC.
  2. Candidates must enroll at KCKCC as full time students (12 credit hours) each semester. A change in enrollment status will be reported to the U.S. Immigration Office at their request.
  3. Students are required to carry hospitalization insurance.
  4. Health insurance is mandatory.

The deadlines to apply for admission to the College for international students entering the country for the first time are as follows:

Fall Semester June 1
Spring Semester October 1
Summer Session April 1

Deadlines for admission to the College for international students transferring from colleges and universities in the United States are as follows:

Fall Semester August 1
Spring Semester December 1
Summer Session May 1
