GED Examination Information

The Kansas Board of Regents, under whose auspices the General Educational Development Examination is given, has the following requirements:

  1. Persons must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Persons cannot be currently enrolled in high school.
  3. Persons cannot hold a high school equivalency certificate or diploma.
  4. Persons must be residents of Kansas or have had their last formal school attendance in Kansas.
  5. Persons who are 16 or 17 years old may take the GED test if they have officially withdrawn from high school, have had an exit interview, and have a signed disclaimer form.
