Mission

The Division of Engineering, Mathematics and Sciences is the most diverse of all the academic divisions. Our mission is to offer superior postsecondary education the following programs: Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Environmental Studies, Forensic Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and Physical Science, Pre-Agriculture, Pre-Chiropractic, Pre-Dental, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Pre-Optometry, Pre-Medical Technology, Pre-Nutrition, Pre-Pharmacy and Pre-Veterinary.

The division has a well structured developmental mathematic program that provides students with strong foundations to allow them to enter their advanced program-courses. Our programs allow students substantial freedom while developing their skills, enhance scientific literacy, and promote a desire for continued acquisition of scientific knowledge. The laboratory experiences help students develop competence in the use of modern techniques and scientific analysis of interpretation and presentation of data. All of our general education courses transfer to all universities and four-year private colleges in Kansas. The division provides many 2 2 program articulations with Kansas and Missouri universities and colleges.

Our students should be proficient in written and oral communication and they should have a sound background in a variety of modern techniques that will make them adaptable to a myriad of professional positions. They will be able to independently develop and disseminate information through a wide array of sources.

Our faculty members are active scholars who are current in their respective fields of specialty. We will continually strive to update our academic program as required to reflect the changing needs of society, the scientific community, and, professional positions currently available.

The Division is committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and provides learning environments that encourage innovation and supports the 21st Century Outcomes of the College.
