Counseling and Advising Center
The Counseling and Advising Center staff is available to assist students with planning and achieving educational and career objectives. Students who are undecided about an academic major or a career are encouraged to visit the Counseling and Advising Center. In addition, staff members can assist students in planning a degree program that adequately prepares them for a smooth transfer to the four-year institution of their choice.
Other services provided in the Counseling and Advising Center include: degree checks for students who have a minimum of 40 credit hours and plan to graduate from KCKCC; biofeedback information and assistance regarding student stress and anxiety; new student advisement; and career planning services. Appointments are highly recommended while walk-in assistance may occur based on counselor availability.
The Counseling and Advising Center is located in the J. Paul Jewell Student Center, Room 3384. Office hours are normally 8:00 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. while classes are in session Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.. Summer hours the office is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. The telephone number is (913) 288-7696.
