An Associate in Science Degree requires satisfactory completion of a minimum 60 credit hours and a C (2.00) cumulative grade-point average.
College Requirement: All first time degree-seeking students who score 75 or above on the ACCUPLACER reading exam are required to take HUDV0100, Freshman Orientation. All degree-seeking students who score below 75 on the ACCUPLACER reading exam will take HUDV 101, Strategies for Academic Excellence/Lifelong Learning. (See exemptions)
Basic Skills courses, including:
- 6 hours of Composition
- 3 hours of Public Speaking or Interpersonal Communication
6 hours of Humanities courses from at least two of the following disciplines:
- Art*
- History
- Literature
- Modern Language
- Music*
- Philosophy
- Theater*
*Performance courses are excluded; check the General Education Core Curriculum for the specific courses available as required by program.
6 hours of Social and Behavioral Science courses from two of the following disciplines:
- Anthropology
- Economics
- Geography
- Political Science
- Psychology

13-15 credit hours in Mathematics and the Natural and Physical Sciences; both a College Algebra (Math 105) course (or above) and a Natural and Physical Sciences laboratory course are needed to complete this requirement; check the General Education Core Curriculum for specific courses available.
