An Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences Degree requires satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours and a C (2.00) cumulative grade-point average.
College Requirement - All first time degree-seeking students who score 75 or above on the ACCUPLACER reading exam are required to take HUDV0100, Freshman Orientation. All degree-seeking students who score below 75 on the ACCUPLACER reading exam will take HUDV 101, Strategies for Academic Excellence/Lifelong Learning. (See exemptions)
Basic Skills courses, including:
- 6 hours of Composition
- 3 hours of Public Speaking or Interpersonal Communication
3 Hours of Mathematics courses, including:
- 3 hours of college-level mathematics; College Algebra and/or Statistics will be required of transfer students where University curriculum requires it.
9 hours of Humanities courses from at least three of the following disciplines:
- Art*
- History
- Literature
- Music*
- Philosophy
- Theater*
*Performance courses are excluded. 6 hours of Social and Behavioral Science courses from two of the following disciplines:
- Anthropology
- Economics
- Geography
- Political Science
- Psychology
- Sociology
5 hours of Natural and Physical Science (lecture with lab). 5 hours of Foreign Language (check the General Education Core curriculum for the specific courses available Additional course work to equal a 60-hour degree.
