Student Advising CenterThe Student Advising Center's staff is available to assist students with planning and achieving educational and career objectives through effective academic advising. Students who are planning on transferring to a university or four year college or are undecided about an academic major are encouraged to visit the Student Advising Center.
Other services provided in the Student Advising Center include degree checks for students who have a minimum of 45 credit hours and plan to graduate from KCKCC; financial aid exclusion appeals, forgiveness appeals; deviation appeals, and advising regarding academic probation. The Student Advising Center also provides workshops and individual assistance regarding the following topics: test anxiety and transferring to four year colleges.
The Student Advising Center is located in the J. Paul Jewell Student Center, Room 3384. Office hours are normally 7:30 a.m. through 7:30 p.m. while classes are in session Monday through Thursday. Friday hours are 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. In summer, the office is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Appointments are highly recommended although walk-in assistance is available.
