Admission Procedure

ESOL Enrollment Checklist

  1. Apply for Admission. Complete a free application Online at Apply Online. You must have either a U.S. or foreign high school diploma or GED to be admitted to KCKCC.

  2. Financial Aid. You must be a citizen or permanent resident to apply for aid. Complete the free online application at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Use school code 001925. You will need your federal tax returns for the previous year to complete the form. Call the Financial Aid Office (913) 288-7455 with questions.

  3. Placement Test. Your math and English language skills must be evaluated by taking the free ESL COMPASS test at the Academic Resource Center. The test may require two hours to complete. Children are not allowed in the testing room.

    The test is available Monday - Thursday
    8:00 -11:00 AM or 2:00 - 6:00 PM

    You will need to bring a photo ID. And you will need your student ID number, your social security number, or your birth date. Call (913) 288-7171 for Placement Test information.

  4. Enroll in Classes. See an ESOL counselor or advisor. You must bring your ESL COMPASS test results with you. The advisor will discuss your academic and career plans and help you complete an enrollment form. Take the form to the ESOL Coordinator or the Admissions Office to complete your enrollment.   5. Pay for Classes. You must pay before classes start unless you have Financial Aid or a scholarship. You may pay at the business office with cash, check, or credit card, OR you may make payments through FACTS on e-cashier at our website, www.kckcc.edu. Call the Business Office (913) 288-7620 with questions.

  6. Student ID and Parking Permit. You can pick these up from Campus Police. Bring a photo ID and your class schedule to Room 3462, (913) 288-7236.
