Welcome to the Division of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences!

Virtually every student at Kansas City Kansas Community College takes courses in the division of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences as we provide instruction and experience in skills that are critical to every educational and career path.  There are opportunities for those who wish to create through the performing and visual arts; to improve communication in spoken, written, digital media; and to examine the range of human thought, development, and behavior.
Many of the best college experiences occur outside the classroom.  Our division houses a long record of developing insight and understanding as evidenced by our students’ and faculty’s national titles, recognitions, valuable internships, and other enhancements.  Financial incentives are available to assist you in achieving your goals.

J. Irwin Miller, businessman, philanthropist, and founder of the Cummins Foundation, said, “The calling of the humanities is to make us truly human in the best sense of the word.” Let us help you discover yourself through the arts, humanities, and social sciences.

Music Program Jazz PhotoThe Instrumental Music program at KCKCC strives to prepare students to become well rounded musicians. Every student will improve as sight readers, as improvisers and musicians who are fundamentally sound. This is achieved by rehearsing and performing a variety literature that is educationally relevant and historically significant.

Theatre

The Department of Theatre encourages students to seek out and develop interdisciplinary pursuits among the visual and performing arts areas.

Choral Music
